Trading in wholesale commodities depicted low going where price variations were modest to low as supplies of some items bettered during the week ended on February 26, 2005. However tea prices are likely to gain subject to Kenyan decision to raise import duty on cash crop rice manifold. On the opening day only a couple of items underwent changes such as juwar all stations which gained and was quoted higher at Rs 1600 and Rs 1700.

On the Kirana side, white pepper was down by Rs 50 to Rs 3800, big cardamom down Rs 100 to Rs 7800, cloves shed Rs 500 to Rs 10,000, dry ginger lost Rs 50 to Rs 7450 and cuminseed lost Rs 1100 to Rs 3600. Wheat old and new shed Rs 15 to Rs 1185, to Rs 1195, bajra inferior type lost Rs 25 to Rs 1550, the better type stayed put.

Cotton cakes rose by Rs 5 to Rs 450, better type up Rs 20 to Rs 460, wheat Mexipak old and new both type lost Rs 25 to Rs 1160 and Rs 1170, Irri white better type inched up by Rs 5 to Rs 1165 and interior did not show any change and was put at Rs 1150.

Dry fruits showed mixed changes, almond Chaman down Rs 200 to Rs 3800, Kaghzi I up Rs 2000 to Rs 10,000, Sindhukhani I up Rs 400 to Rs 4800, raisin III up Rs 400 to Rs 2800, airport I down Rs 1000 to Rs 3800/6000, chilghoza roasted up Rs 400 to Rs 3400.

Jute goods CRT/Indus 8x3 up Rs 2 to Rs 51, Hessian cloth 45x10 Amin up Rs 50 to Rs 1850, 50x9 down Rs 50 to Rs 1750 and 45x8 United down Rs 25 to Rs 1425.

On Thursday plastic mouldings fluctuated both ways. The changes however were in HDPE film Saudia 925 up 50 paisa to Rs 40.25. HDPE injection Sabic 200056 up 50 paisa to Rs 40, Mobil 016 up 50 paiusa to Rs 40, Thai up 25 paisa to Rs 39.25, HDPE Kuwait up 75 paisa to Rs 40.75, LDPE MG 20 down Rs 6 to Rs 55, MG 70 down Rs 5 to Rs 60, polypropylene film Thai up 50 paisa to Rs 40.25, Kuwait up 50 paisa to Rs 40.25, India up 50 paisa to Rs 40.25, polypropylene tape grade up Rs 1.25 to Rs 39.25.

Kuwait up Rs 1.25 to Rs 39.25, Saudia up Rs 1.25 to Rs 39.25 polypropylene injection grade Saudia up Re 1 to Rs 40, India up Re 1 to Rs 40, Kuwait up Re 1 to Rs 40, Polystyrene BASF up Rs 200 to Rs 3500, Pakistani was quoted at Rs 2875, High Impact Pak was quoted at Rs 3020, ABS Polylac 707 quoted at Rs 2925 and Khumo was quoted at Rs 2900.

Guwar inferior type gained Rs 100 to Rs 1700, and better type up Rs 75 to Rs 1775 for all stations, wheat Mexipak both types up Rs 20 to Rs 1180-1190, Gur better type was up Rs 100 to Rs 2459 while the inferior type was put at Rs 2100, Khandsari better type up by Rs 100 to Rs 2600, and the inferior type was unchanged at Rs 2200, rapeseed cake shed Rs 8 to Rs 248/250, cotton cakes drifted lower and lost Rs 15 to Rs 435/445.

Chemicals depicted mixed trend on Friday where sodium sulphate up 50 paisa to Rs 13, N.J. Taiwan down Rs 2 to Rs 128, Germany down Re 1 to Rs 59, Oxalic acid China down Rs 4 to Rs 41, Citric acid China down Rs 2 to Rs 60, petroleum jelly sulphonic acid soft up Rs 5 to Rs 82, hydrosulphite China 88 percent down Rs 2 to Rs 56, Germany down Re 1 to Rs 71, acetic Taiwan down Rs 3 to Rs 81, hydrogen peroxide 35 percent Taiwan down 50 paisa to Rs 36, and Korea 5 percent down Rs 2 to Rs 35.

Cotton cakes was sharply up by Rs 10 to Rs 445 and Rs 455, wheat Mexipak got depressed due to improved supplies thus it lost Rs 55 for both types to Rs 1125 and Rs 1135.
